Are day visitors welcome?
Yes. Day visitors are welcome; however, they must leave the grounds by 6 pm.
Are families with children welcome at Pacific Sun Friends?
Absolutely. Holidays are best with all family members. If you are bringing other people’s children — cousins, grandchildren or friends — written permission from their parent or parents must be presented to the office.
At what age am I considered an adult?
At the age of 18 you are considered an adult and can attend without parental or guardian supervision.
Are dogs and cats allowed?
No. Dogs and cats are not allowed on the campgrounds under local animal-management requirements. The exception is a certified assistance or therapy animal, with documentation, which must remain on a leash with a Pacific Sun Friends tag attached.
What is the maximum length of time I can stay?
Six consecutive weeks is the maximum length of time for any one stay period.
Do you have powered sites?
No. Sites are unpowered, so portable solar is recommended. Generators may be used between 10 am and 8 pm, but not continuously.
Do you have separate clothed and non-clothed areas?
No. Pacific Sun Friends is clothing optional and encourages everyone to be accepting and respectful of other people’s choices.
Can I have a late checkout?
Ask at the office the day before departure. If a late checkout is approved, the published fee is $10 and checkout is extended to 1 pm.
Do you have a camp kitchen?
Yes. The camp kitchen has gas stovetops, a fridge, plates and kitchen utensils. Two gas BBQ areas are also available under gazebos.
Do you have toilets and showers?
Yes. There are two amenity blocks with separate ladies’ and gentlemen’s toilets and showers, as well as outdoor showers.
Are campsite fires allowed?
Contained fires may be allowed depending on local fire restrictions. Please confirm conditions at the office and do not take ground cover from beside the creek.
What is Elimbah Creek like? Can we swim in it?
The grounds are bordered by approximately two kilometres of tidal Elimbah Creek, which can be enjoyed for swimming, fishing, canoeing and stand-up paddle boarding when conditions are suitable.
What activities are available?
Activities have included chip-putt golf, bumpy lawn bowls, miniten, badminton, darts and petanque or bocce. Ask at the office about current equipment and any holding deposit.
What do I do when the office is closed?
Information for setting up camp is displayed at the office. Collect a map, follow the arrival instructions and visit the office when it next opens to arrange your tag and payment.
